1975 Oklahoma Sooners Vintage T-shirt

The defending national champion Oklahoma Sooners were embraced by the United Press International as well as Associated Press in 1975. Unbeaten in 30 games under Barry Switzer, the Sooners were stopped in a tough November loss to Kansas, 23-3. They had to stake a comeback the very next weekend to beat Missouri 28-27, but then they soundly beat Nebraska by a score of 35-10 to get an invite to the Orange Bowl. Oklahoma's date with Michigan on the night of January 1st, 1976 suddenly became a game for the championship when then No.1 Ohio State gave up three second half touchdowns and lost the Rose Bowl to UCLA. Oklahoma seized the opportunity and beat Michigan 14-6 to keep their title for another year.
