1991 Duke Blue Devils Vintage T-shirt

In 1991, Duke University found itself back in the Final Four. Appearing in the coveted Final Four for the 5th time in 6 years, Duke looked to settle an embarrassing score from the previous year. The UNLV Runnin' Rebels, lead by Larry Johnson and Stacey Augmon, had dismantled Duke in the 1990 Championship game, beating the Blue Devils by 30 points and setting the stage for a UNLV repeat in 1991. But Duke had other things in mind for Johnson and the rest of the Rebel team.<p>Riding the play of Christian Laettner, Bobby Hurley, and Brian Davis, the Blue Devils matched UNLV basket for basket in one of the most exciting, back and forth semifinal games in NCAA history. In the end Duke had pulled off the upset, beating UNLV 79-77 to earn a spot in the final game. That following Monday evening, Laettner, Hurley, and the rest of the Blue Devil team outlasted Kansas, and delivered Duke University its first NCAA Men's Basketball Championship.
