The demise of the ABA allowed the NBA to hold a dispersal draft to select the abandoned talent. Artis Gilmore, who was a standout player for the Kentucky Colonels of the ABA, was chosen by the Chicago Bulls. Gilmore was a 7'2 powerhouse who sparked the Bulls late season playoff run during the 1976 season. Under Gilmore's leadership, the Bulls won 20 of their final 24 games and earned a spot in the playoffs.<BR><BR>
